𝐀 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟕𝟎𝐭𝐡-𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩.
Islamabad, July 7, 2021: To mark the 70th anniversary of Pak-China relations, a special conference was organized by the Pakistan-China Institute entitled “𝐏𝐚𝐤-𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐭 𝟕𝟎: 𝐀 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩”.
The conference had 4 sessions under separate headings. PCI presented a 10-minute special documentary on the subject.
The conference was also addressed by the 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑖𝑔𝑛 𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑆ℎ𝑎ℎ 𝑀𝑒ℎ𝑚𝑜𝑜𝑑 𝑄𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑠ℎ𝑖, and the 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑒 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑖𝑔𝑛 𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑊𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝑌𝑖. Qureshi said that the Pak-China friendship is historic and the 3.5 million doses of Covid vaccine given to Pakistan are the latest testament. He said that China’s active role was essential for fulfilling our aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China and Pakistan is a friend who has always stood by each other and the changes in the world cannot affect their relations. He said that all countries should work together for safeguarding international peace.
Ambassador Shao Zhuking stressed the need for China and Pakistan to pay full attention to the 𝐂𝐏𝐄𝐂, and highlight its key aspects.
The Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, spoke on the great role of China in the development of Pakistan. The conference was informed that 𝟒𝟔 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 worth 𝟑𝟎 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 have been completed so far.
The program was attended by almost 200 people including leading Pakistani and Chinese media, think tanks, governments, and civil society organizations, and students and faculty members of well-known Pakistani universities.
