Beijing: July 26, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has assured the Chinese authorities of high-level foolproof security for the Chinese, working on CPEC and various other projects anywhere in Pakistan. He arrived in China on a two-day visit on Friday. He is accompanied by DG ISI Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameedto. The main objective of this tour was to condole with the Chinese government and bereaved families of 13 Chinese workers who were killed in a terrorist attack on 13 July at wasu Dam project in Kohistan area of Pakistan.
During his visit to Beijing, Mr. Qureshi briefed the Chinese authorities on the latest security arrangements and special measures to prevent such terrible incidents. He said that Pakistan would now take special care of security arrangements for CPEC as well as other projects and ensure the safety of all Chinese nationals in the country. In this regard, a special security division headed by two-star generals has been formed to provide foolproof security.
A joint statement issued after talks between Foreign Minister Qureshi and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi vowed to expose the perpetrators of the Kohistan bus attack and give them “exemplary punishment”. The commitment was showed to foil such evil designs through joint investigations,
The joint communique says that the sacrifices of the Chinese people would not go in vain, and this test would further strengthen the China-Pakistan partnership. The joint statement said the two sides were committed to China’s multimillion-dollar flagship program of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Pak-China joint statement said that the bus attack could not hit the close relationship between China and Pakistan and they will remain stood on the path of mutual cooperation.
