The CPEC project under BRI is playing a key role in promoting Pakistan’s trade and economic development: Spokesperson Wang Wenbin

BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenben said at a press briefing that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a major priority project and that 140 countries are currently partners with the Belt and Road Initiative. From the very beginning, BRI has become the world’s largest international cooperation platform for socio-economic development – China is ready to work with various countries, including Pakistan, to create high-quality BRI, which is meant for distributing maximum benefits and maximum profits.
The CPEC is a major priority project of this great concept of BRI which from the very beginning has made progress in many sectors including energy. He referred to the High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Matiari Lahore Transmission Line constructed under the CPEC project and also explained the details and said that NTDC and Pak Matiari Lahore Transmission Line Company (PMLTC) The flagship HVDC line project, the first CPEC project in the power inquiry and transmission sector, has also completed and started it’s work ahead of schedule, according to the given timeline. This 878 km 4,000 MW project has been completed by PMLTC (Pvt) Ltd. for 25 years on the basis of Blood Own Operated Transfer which will be of immense benefit to Pakistan in the power sector. The project will also activate new power plants in the southern region of Pakistan, including the Thar Coal Project.
He emphasized that GoBRI was started in China but the benefits of the opportunities and results are for the whole world and that is why China has joined hands with various countries including Pakistan to provide high-quality BBI. Efforts are being made to formulate RI and make it effective so that all stakeholders can get maximum benefits and maximum profits.
